VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Todd Lamont Cook has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for running into another man with his car and dragging him 170 feet.

Cook then got into an argument with two other men. When the three men exited the store, Cook struck one of the men while driving a van and then dragged him nearly 200 feet.

The victim underwent four surgeries, walks with a cane and suffers nerve damage in one of his legs.

Cook was initially sentenced to 30 years in prison on charges of aggravated malicious wounding, but 20 years were dropped pending good behavior.

Cook's criminal record includes convictions for possession with intent to distribute as an adult and grand larceny and possession with intent to distribute as a juvenile.
