VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Police say a Chesapeake man was extradited from South Carolina on child sex abuse charges.

According to Grazia Moyers with the Virginia Beach Police Department, police received a call from a woman saying her child had been sexually abused by a man known to the family.

The woman said her child had been in the care of 32-year-old David Joseph Ghi.

Moyers said an investigation uncovered the abuse occurred twice in Virginia Beach and once in Chesapeake at separate locations.

Ghi was extradited from South Carolina to Virginia Beach to face charges of aggravated sexual battery, forcible sodomy and indecent liberties in Virginia Beach. He is being held behind bars without bond and could be facing additional charges in Chesapeake.
