NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Norfolk Police have charged a man with murder in connection to the death of a woman in the Huntersville neighborhood Sunday.
Chris Amos with the Norfolk Police Department said officers arrested Stephen Deon Smith, 33, and have charged him with murder.
Officers responded to a medical call in the 700 block of Johnson Avenue around noon Sunday and found 33-year-old Lynelle C. Jenkins dead at the scene, Amos said. Jenkins' manner of death was determined to be homicide, though the cause will not be released.
Smith was arrested at his home shortly after Jenkins' body was found. Amos said the death appears to be domestic-related.
