NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Norfolk fire officials have made an arrest in connection to several arsons within a span of three days.
According to Capt. Mike Hicks with Norfolk Fire and Rescue, officials have arrested 49-year-old David Wise in connection to the fires.
Sunday, two fires occurred at 6203 E. Virginia Beach Blvd. behind the Food Lion. Another fire occurred in a dumpster at 1235 N. Military Hwy. behind the Food Lion on Monday and a third dumpster fire was reported Tuesday at 472 N. Military Hwy. behind the Boston Market.
Hicks said Wise was seen in close proximity to Tuesday’s fire.
Tuesday, Wise was taken to the Police Operation Center and questioned. Hicks said Wise confessed to setting several fires and was taken into custody.
Wise has been charged with two counts of burning or destroying a building or structure and one count of burning or destroying personal property.
