NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - What began as a misdemeanor arrest has landed a Norfolk man in jail on murder charges in connection to the slaying of a beloved barber shop owner in 2010.
Dahson Danata Iraldo, 29, is charged in the death of Henry B. McIntosh, owner of Square Deal Barber Shop located in the 1600 block of Church Street, according to Karen Parker-Chesson with the Norfolk Police Department. McIntosh was gunned down inside the business on April 17, 2010 in what police called a robbery gone bad. He was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he died the next day.
McIntosh's family has been looking for closure for months.
"A day goes by, a week goes by and a month goes by, but today is the day that we can rejoice," McIntosh's daughter Pam Livingston said.
Parker-Chesson said the chain of events in Iraldo's arrest began on July 17, 2012, when he was arrested on an unrelated misdemeanor warrant. During that arrest, police found him in possession of a handgun, Parker-Chesson added.
That day, Iraldo was charged with felony possession of a firearm.
On July 18, 2012, police interviewed Iraldo in connection to the McIntosh's homicide. He was then arrested and is now charged with murder, robbery and two counts of use of a firearm in connection with the homicide.
During a jailhouse interview with WAVY.com, Iraldo maintained his innocence.

"I'm being falsely accused of something I didn't do," Iraldo said. "I don't want my life taking away for something I didn't do."
Parker-Chesson said the investigation is ongoing. Stay with WAVY.com for more on the developing story.
