CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - Police say a Chesapeake man has been arrested for discharging a firearm in a Chesapeake neighborhood Tuesday afternoon.
According to Sheena Evans with the Chesapeake Police Department, officers saw a suspect fire into the air in the 2900 block of Berkley Avenue at 12:30 p.m. Police say the suspect then walked into a home.
Evans said after a short standoff situation, the suspect, 54-year-old James Watkins was arrested and charged with reckless handling of a firearm and discharging a firearm in public.
The investigation is ongoing, according to Evans.
