SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - The Suffolk Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating a man wanted for stealing lottery tickets during a power outage on June 30.
Tim Kelley with the City of Suffolk said the burglary occurred between midnight and 4:30 a.m. at the Kangaroo Express Gas Station at 1125 Wilroy Road during a storm-related power outage.
The store had extensive damage to its front window display and scratch-off lottery tickets were taken. The suspect was later captured on surveillance footage cashing in the tickets.
The suspect has been described as a black male wearing a white shirt at the time he cashed in the tickets. He has facial hair and longer, dark hair.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
