GLOUCESTER COUTNY, Va. - Gloucester County Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of an armed robbery in the 6800 blk. of Ashley Street in the Hayes section of Gloucester County Friday. The callers claimed they were robbed at gunpoint in their yard by a male subject. According to the callers, arrangements had been made to show the suspect a car that they had for sale. The alleged victims told police once they brought the car over, the suspect tried to rob them.

After investigating the alleged reports, deputies determined that no such robbery ever occurred. Investigators say this incident was related to an incident in another jurisdiction several days earlier.

When the alleged victims were confronted with the findings they admitted to lying to police and filing a false police report.

Christina Marie Belvin, 22, and Kevin James Farmer, 20, both of the 6800 blk. of Ahsley Street were taken into custody and charged with one count each of Obstruction of Justice and Filing a False Police Report, both misdemeanor charges.

Farmer and Belvin have both been released on a $2,500 secured bond. Additional charges may be pending.
