Newport News police were called to the 500 blk. of Catina Way around 3:23 Wednesday morning. Upon arrival, officers discovered two male shooting victims. One was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body and head, while another was suffering from a gunshot wound to the foot.

Both men were transported to Riverside Regional Medical Center for treatment. 29-year-old Christian Kendrick Hatch was pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later. The second victim, a 19-year-old Newport News man was treated and released.
