HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - Three suspects have been arrested in connection with a September 2010 home invasion in Hampton.
Police said the suspects forced their way inside a home in the 800 block of Arlington Terrace and robbed the occupants inside. The alleged incident occurred in the early morning hours on September 11, 2010.
A relative told 10 On Your Side off-camera the guys pointed a gun at his grandfather while they robed him.
Officials said all three of the suspects were armed with handguns.
Robert King Via, Jr., 20, of Poquoson, 26-year-old Reginald Christopher Jones, of Yorktown and 19-year-old Samual Goodwin Sanchez, also of Poquoson were all charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, attempted robbery, four counts of abduction, seven counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony.
Investigators said they do not believe the suspects knew any of the people in the house.
"It's very uncommon for a crime like this to happen," said Hampton Police Cpl. Jason Price. "That's why it's important for residents to remember not to open their door to a stranger and to report any suspicious activity."
Each of the suspects remains behind bars.
