HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - A man has died nearly 12 hours after a double shooting on South Back River Road in Hampton late Thursday night.
Sgt. Jason Price with the Hampton Police Division said officers were told of two men being treated for gunshot wounds at the Sentara CarePlex just after 11 p.m. While both victims suffered a single gunshot wound, one of the victims’ injuries were considered life-threatening.
The victim was pronounced deceased at 10:15 a.m. The second victim, a 23-year-old man, suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Further investigation revealed the victims were inside a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu when they were shot by unknown suspect(s) in the 200 block of South Back River Road, Price said in a release. The victims then drove themselves to the hospital.
Other details including a possible motive remains under investigation at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
