NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - Newport News Police have arrested a 44-year-old woman after she was indicted on a charge of injuring an elderly woman in January.

Holly McPherson with the Newport News Police Department told WAVY.com the incident occurred on Jan. 22 when Linda Dalkert was living at the Governor’s Inn Home. She reportedly got into a disagreement with an 89-year-old woman.

During the altercation, Dalkert pushed and hit the victim, McPherson said. The victim suffered a broken hip and fractured elbow as a result of the assault.

Dalkert was directly indicted and arrested this week on a charge of malicious wounding.
