CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - Police say a 77-year-old man is now critically injured after teens violently assaulted him last week.
According to Kelly O'Sullivan with the Chesapeake Police Department, Charles Silva was in a remote part of the Hampton Roads Executive Airport, 5172 West Military Highway, at 5 p.m. Sept. 27.
Silva, an avid hunter, and his local hunting club had a partnership with the airport to keep the deer population in check. According to friends, Silva was at the airport last Thursday clearing land so that the hunters had space to put up their stands.
O'Sullivan said Silva had warned a group of three teens between the ages of 17 and 18 about trespassing. O'Sullivan say one or two of the teens assaulted Silva who is now listed in critical condition.
