SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A Portsmouth woman was arrested for leaving her dog in a pen without food or water.
Diana Klink with the City of Suffolk says Sarah Elizabeth Yauger was arrested in relation to the incident which occurred Sept. 14, 2011.
Klink told WAVY.com Yauger's neighbor contacted Suffolk Animal Control to report a dog that "appeared to be dying."
Yauger's dog suffered from heat stroke and seizures, and was taken to a veterinarian's office where it was euthanized.
Yauger has been charged with animal cruelty.
