CAMDEN COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) - Deputies say additional charges are pending for a man arrested for an armed robbery in Camden Wednesday.

According to Camden County Sheriff Tony Perry, deputies received a call about a robbery at approximately 3 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of Jordan Lane.

Perry says the suspect entered the home armed with a large knife and got away with the victim's cell phone, medicine and jewelry.

The suspect was later identified as Charles Ernest Smith, Jr., 35, and items from the robbery were found in his home. Perry says Smith is also believed to be a suspect in other breaking and entering cases in the Camden County area.

Smith was charged with breaking and entering, robbery with a dangerous weapon, larceny after breaking and entering and possession of stolen goods in connection with the Jordan Lane robbery.

Smith is due back in court Dec. 14 and has been placed under a $80,000 bond at Albemarle District Jail.
