VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A husband and wife duo pleaded guilty this week for stealing more than $100,000 in items from T.J. Maxx.
Slavtcho Andonov and Tinka Andonova worked as janitors at the Virginia beach Boulevard store and were arrested last August when management noticed a large amount of merchandise missing.
A plea agreement with the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office states each of them will serve a 6-month jail sentence, reduced from an initial 18 years in prison pending good behavior.
Investigators recovered the merchandise from the suspects' home and said they believe they were sending back the items to their home country, Bulgaria.
