DARE COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) - A man accused of threatening to kill a judge in the Outer Banks is now in North Carolina to face his charges.
Paul Wright, 32 is accused of making a bomb threat on Senior Resident Superior Court Judge Jerry Tillett and the Dare County Justice Center on Dec. 11.
According to Chief Deputy Steve Hoggard with the Dare County Sheriff's Office said deputies and agents with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation traveled to Georgia on Dec. 28 and transported Wright back to Dare County.
Wright was charged with threaten to kill a court officer and making a false report concerning a destructive device. Upon his return, he was subsequently charged with two outstanding failure to appear warrants from 2009.
He is being held at the Dare County Detention Center in lieu of $1,000,000 bond.
