NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - Police have arrested a man in connection to a robbery and shooting near the Olde Towne Market on Jan. 15.
Newport News officers were dispatched to the Olde Towne Market located at 39th Street and Marshall Avenue for a report of a shooting. The victim was found suffering from several non-life threatening gunshot wounds.
An investigation revealed the victim was robbed by two unknown suspects. One of those suspects was later identified as Deanthony Q. Clark.
Lou Thurston with the Newport News Police Department told WAVY.com Clark was located in the 900 block of 16th Street Tuesday. Detectives also located a handgun hidden from plain sight in the vehicle Clark was in, Thurston added.
Clark has been charged with having a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, robbery and conspiracy to commit a felony.
