VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Virginia Beach Police have arrested a man officers say robbed a woman as she tried to make a night deposit in Town Center.

Police have arrested Marquites Anthony Garvin, 20, in connection to the robbery. He's facing charges of robbery, abduction and wearing a mask in public.

Grazia Moyers with the Virginia Beach Police Department said the robbery occurred on Nov. 7 around 11:30 p.m. at the Towne Bank ATM located in the 200 block of Constitution Drive. An employee of a local business was making a night deposit when a suspect came out of the bushes and grabbed her.

According to police, an unknown object was placed at the victim’s back. She screamed, and a witness inside the victim’s vehicle saw the suspect grab the deposit bag and run toward Town Center Drive.

The suspect was captured on the bank's surveillance.
