NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - A Norfolk man was extradited from Colorado in connection with an armed robbery in Newport News last month.

According to Lou Thurston with the Newport News Police Department, two men entered the MegaBass store in the 10700 block of Jefferson Avenue at 11 a.m. Oct. 2.

Thurston says one of the men pulled out a handgun after a customer left the store and demanded the owner open up a safe. The owner told the men he did not have a safe, at which point the suspects taped the owner's hands to his sides and placed him in a room in the back of the store.

Police say the men got away with cash from the store's register, a laptop computer from the counter and a computer storage device.

Marcus Troy McBride, 26, has been charged with two counts of abduction by force, one count of robbery, three counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony and one count of conspiracy to commit a felony.

Police say the second suspect is still at large and McBride is in jail without bond. McBride was picked up by Newport News police Nov. 3.
