CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - Police are searching for two suspects in connection to four animals stolen from a Chesapeake pet store on Oct. 4.

Kelly O’Sullivan with the Chesapeake Police Department said three bearded dragons and one sun conure bird were stolen from Simply Pets located in the 1900 block of South Military Highway.

"It's like a little part of your heart is missing," said owner Shanonn Severts. "These are our children."

Police would like to speak with two individuals in regards to the case.

"It was a young lady with a back pack and an older gentleman that was with her," Severts said.

Severts opened the store six years ago with the hope of sharing her love for animals with the customers .

"I want to still believe in people, but I am watching a little bit closer," Severts said. "I don't want to see anything happen. I don't want to feel as if I have to put my babies behind a cage ."

Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.

" I hope that the animals get returned safely," Severts said.
