NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - The man accused of killing Norfolk Police Officer Victor Decker in 2010 will go on trial next February.

Raymond Perry appeared in court Wednesday and was appointed a new lawyer. His former court-appointed lawyer, Greg Turpin, asked to be dismissed from the case as he is running for Virginia Beach Commonwealth's Attorney.

Perry is facing charges of first degree murder, robbery, two counts of use of firearm and capital murder.

Perry will be back in court in April for a pre-trial hearing.

Decker, 25, was shot and killed  in October 2010. Police say his body ways found next to his truck off the side of the road. Decker was off duty at the time.

Investigators say they conducted more than 200 interviews in this case.
