VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A Virginia Beach teacher who was arrested for public intoxication at Plaza Middle School pleaded guilty Wednesday.
According to Grazia Moyers with the Virginia Beach Police Department, police were called to the school shortly after 11 a.m. for an intoxicated subject Oct. 25.
School officials said 28-year-old Jessica S. Snyder had arrived at the school at 8:30 a.m. and fallen in the hallway. She had not made contact with her students and did not require medical attention. She was charged that day with public intoxication.
Wednesday, Snyder received a $200 fine and also has to pay $86 in court costs.
Officials say Snyder, a first-year French teacher at Plaza Middle School, resigned one day after the incident.
