Virginia Beach, Va. - The PHOTOSafe Program is pleased to announce that construction on the first intersection has begun. Permits have been issued for construction at Kempsville and Indian River Roads and for Independence and Virginia Beach Boulevards. Redflex Traffic Systems, the vendor for the city, has contracted with Highway Electric to install cameras at the intersections.

Construction is scheduled to take about a week. Some traffic delays are expected with this project. Police ask you to take extra care during this construction period.

The cameras initial operation is expected to take place in mid March and will begin with a 30-day warning period for each intersection as the cameras become operational.
