Light Rail construction continues

NORFOLK, Va. - Starting Monday, February 16, light rail construction will begin on Civic Center Plaza, adjacent to the City Hall, City Jail, Circuit Court and General District Court buildings. The construction is expected to continue through summer 2009.

No new detours will be necessary for the construction; however the existing East Main Street detour will continue to be in effect. Access to the North and South City Hall parking garages and lots will remain accessible. The pedestrian walkways will remain open and both pedestrians and motorists are cautioned to be alert to construction activity.
