RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Democrat Creigh (Cree) Deeds is the second candidate to begin televising ads in the Democratic primary for governor.
In one ad, Deeds recalls how his mother sent him off to college with just four $20 bills in his pocket. The other says his legislative experience makes him the most qualified Democrat.
Both ads represent a healthy buy in downstate media markets.
Deeds is spending nearly $30,000 to televise the ads in Roanoke,
twice that much in Richmond, and about $45,000 in Hampton Roads.
He's also advertising in the Bristol market that serves southwest
Virginia and northeast Tennessee.
