VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The Virginia Beach Police Department has expanded its PHOTOsafe program yet again. The intersection of General Booth Blvd. and Dam Neck Rd. is now equipped with the red light cameras.
The warning period for the camera will run until June 21. After that time, motorists will be ticketed.
On April 20, cameras were added to the intersection of Holland Rd. and Rosemont Rd. B
Back in March the first of the cameras were installed at Kempsville Rd. and Indian River Rd., as well as at the intersection of Independence Blvd. and Virginia Beach Blvd. And on April 1 a PHOTOSafe camera was installed at the intersection of Indian River Rd. and Military Hwy.
In early March, the PHOTOSafe Program announced construction on the first intersection had begun. Redflex Traffic Systems, the vendor for the city, tapped Highway Electric to install cameras at the intersections.
