NEW YORK, N.Y. - Auto-maker Chrysler is recalling about 24,000 Chrysler, Dodge
and Jeep vehicles due to defective brakes that may cause them to
suddenly fail.
The recall includes some 2010 Chrysler Sebrings, Dodge
Avengers and Nitros, Jeep Libertys, Commanders, and Grand
Cherokees, and 2009 and 2010 Rams.
The affected vehicles may have a defective piece that is
essential to the brakes functioning properly. It is called a brake
booster rod retaining clip. Some Dodge Rams may have been built
entirely without this piece.
Chrysler does not think these models have induced crashes or
injuries.
If you have one of these vehicles, contact either the
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at 888-0327-4236, or
Chrysler at 800-853-1403.
