Jay Threatt added 13 points, six assists and four steals for the Hornets (12-9, 7-3 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference).

Delaware State trailed 26-23 at halftime, but used a 12-0 run in the second half to take a 38-29 lead with 7:52 remaining. During the run, Norfolk State was held scoreless for almost 12 minutes.
