Police searching for suspects

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Beach police are investigating a vicious assault that left two victims with severe head injuries.

On Thursday, July 9 police say a juvenile riding his bike in the 1000 blk. of Banyan Drive attempted to ride around a group of black males when one of them stepped in his path and forced him to stop. That's when police say the the group of suspects began to repeatedly punch, kick and rob the victim.

A nearby citizen heard the commotion, witnessed the assault and attempted to help when he too was attacked, officials said. One of the suspects struck him in the head with a brick.

Officials tell WAVY.com the juvenile victim sustained a head injury that required medical treatment and several stitches, while the other victim sustained a severe skull fracture and required surgery.
