VB officer hit by car; driver charged

A motorcycle unit police officer was struck by a car Tuesday morning at around 7 a.m., according to Virginia Beach Public Information Officer Margie Long.

The accident happened in the 2600 blk. of North Landing Road.

The officer sustained minor injuries to his leg and was transported to Princess Anne Hospital, Long said.

The man who hit him was still on the scene when officers arrived. He will be charged with Failure to Yield an Emergency Vehicle.
