RICHMOND, Va. - Virginia Republicans are seeking an accounting of Gov. Tim Kaine's travels and public expenses as chairman of the Democratic National Committee.
The Republican Party said it filed a Freedom of Information Act request Friday seeking records relating to his daily schedule since Jan. 21, when Kaine stepped into the national party role.
The Republican request also seeks records relating to state expenses for his out-of-state Democratic travels.
Kaine is in Kansas City raising money for the DNC.
Republican Party Chairman Pat Mullins said Kaine should resign if he can't properly tend to the many economic problems facing Virginia.
Kaine's communications director Lynda Tran said she had not seen
the GOP request for the governor's DNC travel and expenses but
would review it.
