NORFOLK, Va. - A suspect described as very "unassuming" and "not the type you would be concerned with" has robbed, or attempted to rob, 11 places in Virginia Beach and Norfolk.

Norfolk police have released new video of the serial robber, who is targetting sub shops and getting bolder.

The suspect tried to get money from local Zero's Sub Shop employee, Candace, at around 8 p.m. Wednesday.

"So I came up to the counter real easy and said 'what's going on'?" Candace told WAVY.com. Candance says the man then ordered her to give him everything she had, but Candace refused and the man left.

Twenty minutes later, the robber then went to Pollard's Chicken on Tidewater Drive. The restaurant employee, Kaitlyn, told WAVY.com, "He pointed the gun at me, and said he'd shoot me if I didn't give him money...he said he had a family to feed. If I gave him the money he said no one would get hurt, so I handed over the money and he ran out."

Below is a list of previous robberies police believe the suspect is responsible for:

Zero's - Auburn Drive, July 8
Pizza Hut - Kempsville Drive, July 16
Walgreens - Indian River Road, July 18
Zero's - Princess Anne Road, July 20
Subway - Newtown Road, July 22
Tropical Smoothie - Great Neck Road (Attempt), July 22
Subway - Virginia Beach Blvd. (Attempt), July 22
Zero's - Auburn Drive (Attempt), July 22

Police say the suspect is armed and they believe he is also wanted for several commercial robberies in Norfolk.

The suspect is described as a white male, 24-30 years of age. He's 5'6" to 5'11" tall and weighs between 150-180 pounds with brown hair and crooked teeth. The suspect usually wears a ball cap and large frame black sunglasses. In most cases, he is wearing either red or white basketball shorts with a black stripe down the side.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
