VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - The Blue Angels headlined the Ocean Air Festival Friday afternoon.

Lieutenant Commander Dave Tickle flies opposing solo for the Blue Angels. He flew in support of operation Iraqi Freedom and operation Enduring Freedom before joining the team.

"The average taxpayer doesn't get to see or go out to an aircraft carrier or see their Navy operating on a daily basis so for us to be able to travel the country and represent all those men and women in uniform and to showcase the pride and professionalism of what their men and women do every day is such a great opportunity," Tickle said.

The Blue Angels will fly again at 3 p.m. Saturday at NAS Oceana. The show is free, but you have to get tickets if you want to sit in the bleachers.
