At the beginning of the year, our Norfolk Tides were unbeatable.
Plenty of the Orioles top prospects were playing at Harbor
Park.
Now, not so much.
Most are in Baltimore.
So, Ahmed Fareed got in a car and drove up there to say,
hey, remember us?
This year, it didn't take long at all for some of our Norfolk
Tides to become former Norfolk Tides.
Getting the call to the majors and leaving with memories of
Hampton Roads.
David Hernandez, Nolan Riemond, and Matt Wieters, just three of
the Oriole rookies getting the call this year.
Wieters is the best prospect with the Orioes, but Riemold
has had the best year.
Leading all American League rookies in Home Runs and Runs
Batted In.
A major reason for his success is qualify training tools
available in the Majors.
Becoming a major leaguer can be a stressfull endevor. These
guys say they're glad their doing it together.
Most have moved up the system together.
Chris Tillman, the latest Tide to join his buddies in
Baltimore.
And now it's just a matter of winning.
Something not easily done in the American Leaglue East.
