NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - USS Oak Hill (LSD 51) deploys today to the Caribbean Sea and Southern Atlantic Ocean in support of Amphibious-Southern Partnership Station 2012 (A-SPS 12).

The A-SPS mission is commanded by Capt. Arturo Garcia, and the crew of 400 is comprised of the following elements: US Coast Guard, Marine Wing Support Squadron 274, Helicopter Marine Medium 774, Second Amphibious Assault Vehicle Battalion, Riverine Squadron 3, Assault Craft Unit 2 , Beach Master Unit 2, Joint Inter-Agency Task Force South, and Navy Public Affairs Support Element.

Cmdr. David Bauer is USS Oak Hill's commanding officer.
