NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) -
The USS Norfolk will be returning from deployment on Saturday.
According to a release from the Navy, the USS Norfolk steamed more than 30,000 nautical miles and visited ports in Haifa, Israel; Limassol, Cyprus; Bahrain and Deigo Garcia.
The ship left May 1.
The USS Norfolk was built by Newport News Shipbuilding and commissioned in 1983. It’s the third naval ship to be named in honor of the City of Norfolk.
