USS New York gets "Best of Class" award

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - The USS New York's sales division was presented with the "Best Ship of Class Ship Store Sales and Service Award."
The award was based off of supply management certification and customer satisfaction scores from New York's retail operations division. The crew received a 99.01. score and was given the award for fiscal year 2011, according a news release.
The sales division earned $1 million on a 9-month deployment, $189,000 of which was transferred to morale, welfare and recreation programs.
"I couldn't be prouder of New York’s ship services team as they received this prestigious 'Best in Class' award today,” Capt. Jon Kreitz said. “They earned it through their tremendous efforts providing superb support to our Sailors and Marines each and every day.”
