USS Gunston Hall CMC relieved

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - The Navy says it relieved the Command Master Chief of the Virginia Beach-based USS Gunston Hall for alleged misconduct.

Command Master Chief Kelly Smith was relieved Saturday during an ongoing command investigation into alleged inappropriate behavior.

Smith has been reassigned to Naval Surface Force, Atlantic.

Permanent relief for the Gunston Hall has not been assigned.

The dock landing ship is currently in port in Bahrain.
