NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - USS Donald Cook (DDG 75) departed Naval Station Norfolk Sept. 19.
The guided-missile destroyer is left for the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility. There, it will support the Navy's Maritime Strategy.
Navy officials say while deployed, the Donald Cook will help promote peace and security while working to deter crimes on the waters of the Arabian and Mediterranean Seas.
The crew of nearly 275 will be commanded by Cmdr. J. Lee Bennet.
