NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - The guided-missile destroyer USS Cole will return to its homeport of Naval Station Norfolk Saturday.

While deployed, the ship participated in ballistic missile defense operations.

Recently outfitted with a state-of-the-art BMD weapons system, the ship will play an integral role in the NATO Alliance's missile defense initiative.
