NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - Newport News Shipbuilding has been awarded more than $142 million in contracts from the US Navy.

The contract will include engineering, design, configuration management, research and industrial support for work on operational and decommissioning submarines.

"No one will take better care of these products than we will," Newport News Shipbuilding vice president Jennifer Boykin said. "These ships represent the very best of American craftsmanship and innovation, and the pride that goes into their construction will continue during their maintenance to ensure that the Navy is equipped with the very best."
