HAMPTON ROADS, Va. - Iran continues to stoke tensions with the world community. On Sunday, Iran successfully test fired two short-range missiles.

The show of force comes just days after the US and its allies condemned Tehran over a newly revealed underground nuclear facility.

Virginia Senator Jim Webb also weighed in on NBC's "Meet The Press" Sunday morning.

From Iran to Afghanistan, Virginia Senator Jim Webb was center stage Sunday morning offering his take on foreign policy.

Over the weekend, President Obama called out Iran for building a secret nuclear facility.

"I think what we have right now is a way in which we can explore what the Iranian's intentions are," Webb said.

Overnight, Iran said it successfully test fired two short-range missiles.

"We're going to face this situation with other countries and in terms of nuclear power proliferation around the world we're going to be seeing these sorts of challenges," continued Senator Webb.

Russia and China have long been Iran's protectors, but after this latest episode, Russia is showing signs of siding with the United States.

Republican Whip Sen. Jon Kyl of Arizona said a change in power could be what's needed.

"What we're trying to do here eventually is get a regime change with a group of people in there that are more representative of the Iranian people who we really can talk with in a way that might end up with a good result," Kyl said on "Meet the Press" Sunday.

A 'good result' is the favored outcome in Afghanistan as well.

General Stanley McCrystal said more troops are needed to avoid failure.

Webb says he thinks "the president is taking the right approach here by examining carefully where to go forward."

He says that means not giving an exact date for troop withdrawal, but outlining the conditions under which our military mission is going to end.
