HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - Clashes between Afghan security forces and protestors demonstrating against the burning of the Koran at a NATO Military base left seven people dead.
Anger over the burning sparked two days of protests across Afghanistan and tapped into anti-foreign sentiment.
Dr. Ahmed Noor, a local Muslim leader, has advice for our forces and policy makers. "You need to start building bridges and building trust so that people know the United States as we know it, is not against Islam."
Dr. Noor admits it is unfortunate because the bloodshed is against the very principles of the Koran.
