NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A career expo was held in Norfolk to aid veterans in transitioning from military to civilian life.
Experts were on hand at the MIlitary.com and the Non-Commissioned Officers Association-sponsored event to help former military members learn how to take their current skill set and translate it to the civilian work force.
"Veterans have never had to use civilian terms to describe what they do and HR professionals are not aware that military members leave the service with experience in project management, leadership, personnel management and training expertise to name just a few," President of Military.com and retired Navy Admiral T. McCreary said.
