LOS ANGELES, Calif. (WAVY) - An ex-officer accused of hunting his former coworkers in Los Angeles received military training in Virginia Beach, according to a manifesto.

A manhunt for Christopher Dorner was launched across several states after the former Los Angeles police officer was implicated in a double homicide Wednesday evening. Dorner, 33, is accused of killing a woman whose father represented him when he was fired from the department in 2008 as well as her fiance over the weekend.

Dorner allegedly published a lengthy manifesto online outlining his firing. He claims he was wrongly fired and goes into detail about the events leading up to his termination.

The manifesto names several LAPD officers as potential targets of an attack due to their involvement in his firing. According to police, Dorner ambushed two officers in Riverside, Calif., killing one.

The manifesto also claims Dorner received training in Virginia Beach.

“I will utilize every tool within INT collections that I learned from NMITC in Dam Neck,” the manifesto said.

NMITC stands for Navy and Marine Corps Intelligence Center and is located in Virginia Beach.

Officials at the Pentagon tell WAVY.com they cannot find any records of Dorner being in the area. He did spend 11 years with the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged on Feb. 1, 2013, before the double homicide he’s accused in.

According to military records obtained by WAVY.com, Dorner reached the rank of lieutenant with the Navy in 2006 and received several awards, including a Pistol Expert Medal and a Rifle Marksman Ribbon.
