NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A sailor recently assigned to the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower is the Atlantic Shore Sailor of the Year.
Aircrew Survival Equipmentman 1st Class Maria Johnson was assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron 106 at NAS Oceana. There she served as the Leading Petty Officer for the squadron's aviation equipment work center.
The award recognizes sailors for their outstanding leadership, knowledge and performance .
