NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - A Memorial Day air show featuring the Navy's Blue Angels has been canceled, along with the Heritage of Heroes Concert in Newport News.

According to the Lynchburg Regional Air Show Corporation (LRA), the Memorial Day weekend air show scheduled in May has been canceled due to sequestration cuts.

The US Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) canceled the March 30 Heritage of Heroes Concert at the Ferguson Center for the Arts also due to budget cuts. TRADOC determined the event was a non-mission critical event.

The TRADOC Band is scheduled to perform at Music Under the Starts held Thursdays at 7 p.m. at Ft. Eustis' Magnolia Park over the summer.
