NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Naval Support Activity Norfolk is scheduled to test its "Giant Voice System" Wednesday at noon, the Navy said.

During the test, the "Take Cover", "All Clear" and "Standard Tone" will be sounded.

The 'Giant Voice System' is an outdoor intercom loud enough to alert anyone outside on base of a potential threat.

According to the Navy, this is a routine test of the system and is done periodically throughout the year.
