JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. (WAVY) - Joint Base Langley-Eustis hosted two homecomings over the span of just a few hours Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
Late Wednesday about 160 soldiers from the 149th Transportation Company, 10th Transportation Battalion, 7th Sustainment Brigade will return after spending 12-months in Afghanistan. During its deployment, the 149th Trans. Co. was responsible for conducting yard operations at a central receiving and shipping point. The soldiers also provided support for material handling equipment throughout the country.
During the early morning hours of Thursday, about 20 soldiers from the 86th Dive Detachment, 6th Transportation Battalion, 7th Sustainment Brigade will return from a 12-month deployment in Kuwait. While there, the divers conducted bridge reconnaissance and assessment missions, port clearance, ship husbandry, and river reconnaissance missions.
